Catherine's Restaurant is named after Henry VIII's 6th wife Catherine Parr (Kendall was once home to her) and is located to the left of the main Lobby. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The best of local ingredients are used to create good cuisine complimented by a fine wine list. The Westmorland Gazette Bar - aptly named after the regions local papaer - proudly displays photgraphs of the regions history and is a good place for a relaxed drink after a long day. The hotel is steeped in history having originally been built as an orphanage for young girls in the 1850's. It is traditional in design and made from locally quarried stone. The lobby is medium sized, well set out with some seating.
