All rooms are medium sized and although basic are clean and well presented. All rooms have recently had tea and coffee making facilities added. There is no restaurant as such although the hotel has a breakfast room which is traditionally furnished. This is a traditional Cumbrian slate built property. The lobby is small and to the left of the entrance to the Hotel. You have to ring the door bell to be let in by the owner or his wife. It can often be quite busy as the hotel operates tours of the Lake District by bus which are very popular. A good value family run hotel in an excellent location. The owners of the property are very knowledgeable about the area, particularly Andrew. So if you are interested in seeing some of the more eye catching sites in the area be sure to ask his advice he'll be only too pleased to help. He runs the Lakes Supertours from the hotel reception.

The Town of Windermere is set on a hillside and the Lakes Hotels is at the uppermost point of the main street. The Hotels is literally a stone's throw from Windermere rail station and the main A591. 150 kms to the airport (manchester) 200 kms to the airport (mht) Close to the station (windermere) 1 minute walk to the nearest bus stop
