Description of hotel
All bedrooms are medium sized and are all very unique and as is expected from a hotel of this standard, all are in very good condition as they are continuously being checked and refurbished as and when required. As this hotel is very traditional, all rooms come complete with antiques in the rooms which themselves are of course very luxurious. The bathrooms are also in good condition and traditional in style. The hotel has a bar/ restaurant serving informal lunches which offers very good value for money, and the hotel also has a world renowned a la carte restaurant which overlooks the canal and offers a very luxurious and romantic atmosphere. The kitchen also overlooks the canal and some boat cruises show the hotel and kitchen as part of their tour as it is so well known. Breakfast is also served in this room and in the summer, there is a delightful terrace where one can dine or just have a drink. A beautiful, traditional building with the kitchen of the famous restaurant at water level so that during a canal cruise, the kitchen is included in all canal cruises "places of interest" due to its worldwide reputation. Although this is a very grand and stately hotel, it is a little old fashioned. However, the lobby area itself is fairly large but beyond it, there is a very large lounge area with chandeliers, comfortable furniture and views overlooking the canal. Afternoon tea may be served in here and the entire hotel has an air of class.
