Description of hotel
The medium sized bedrooms are in good condition. They feature a predominantly red and yellow colour scheme evoking a Laura Ashley style room; being very cosy and elegant at the same time. This hotel serves breakfast only and the breakfast room has delightful views over the Amstel River. There is also a small bar located next to the lobby and in the hotels former restaurant, there is now a Coffee Company which serves coffee, cakes and other light snacks in a friendly atmosphere, also overlooking the Amstel River. This traditional, old building is quite noticeable from the opposite side of the canal as it still retains many of its original features, most noticeably the watchmen from where Rembrandt got his inspiration. The lobby is very traditional with marble flooring and antique ornaments, although it is quite small. This hotel has a perfect location and is a brilliant hotel for individuals wishing to experience a little Dutch history and for smaller groups.
