Villa Magenta , perched over the sea in Positano, was originally built in the 1300's. The current owner enlarged and fully restored the property for her retirement, creating a serene and sophisticated home where she enjoys the long spring and autumn seasons. With four double ensuite bedrooms, this is an ideal villa for four couples.
The villa is completely private, part of an exclusive area occupying a peninsula one kilometer from the center of Positano and is one of the most charming of the many seaside towns on the Amalfi Coast. With its early springs and long seasons, the Amalfi Coast is an appealing destination from April to November. You can relax by the pool, shop or visit museums, explore or enjoy staying close to home. One of the great pleasures is being car-free in the Amalfi Coast. Boats, taxis and hired cars are available.
To reach Villa Magenta there is a public path and winding stairway that bring you from the road to the Villa. The front door opens onto a spectacular terrace with flowering potted plants and vines, trees, bronze wall sculptures and views of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
On the terrace there is the possibility to enjoy elegant dining al fresco at a long, marble-top table for 12 with iron chairs. Set along the edge of the terrace, are also three marble-top iron cafe tables. Double doors connect the terrace with the interior spaces of the house.
Near the house, there is a swimming pool (10 x 5 meters - open from May ) surrounded by a terraced hill. A bronze lion serves as fountain head and a bamboo-covered pergola provides shade for drinks or reading at the far end of the terrace, and offers an entirely different view of the coast and property. The sun beds, chairs and umbrellas can be moved around to suit individual preference. A gate has been added to separate the pool area from the terrace, comfort to those traveling with smaller children.
