The town of Fontevraud l'Abbaye is located in the Unesco world heritage site 'Loire Valley' between Angers and Tours, 3 hrs south of Paris. Hotel la Croix Blanche is right opposite the Royal Abbey where you can find the graves of Richard the Lionheart, king Henri II and queen Eleanor of Aquitaine. Close to many Loire Valley castles, the Loire river and many vineyards.
This former coaching inn offers rooms with a contemporary décor and furniture, all have a desk and a flat-screen TV with foreign channels. Free entrance tickets and tastings at local wineries, maps and other tourist sites are available from reception or the tourist information centre.
Buffet breakfast is served each morning and can be enjoyed on the terrace. The Plantagenêt gourmet restaurant offers modern French cuisine and an extensive regional wine list, as well as bistro-style lunches.
