Or in the Donjon whose eleven bedrooms were once used by many visitors- their presence recalled by memorabilia completing the tasteful decor.The grand old lady of the chateau was Camille de Saint-Phale- surrounded by her family ; a rich Parisian couple and their children- a retired doctor and army major- an actress- a dandy- a fun living Polish lady- a young American poet. She was often visited by her friends ; Loti- Proust- Monet and others that she will never forget ; Maupassant- Offenbach and Flaubert.
