Located right on Kagoshima Bay, Hotel Welview offers hot-spring baths with views of Sakurajima volcano, saunas, massages, Japanese and French restaurants and free parking. Japanese, Western and disability access rooms are available, all with free wired internet and some with sea views. All rooms at Hotel Welview Kagoshima are air-conditioned and come with a mini-fridge, green tea and an en suite bathroom with slippers. Guests in Japanese-style rooms sleep in futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. The hotel is a 20-minute drive from JR Kagoshima Chuo Train Station and a 3-minute walk from Yojiro Nichome bus stop (buses depart from JR Kagoshima Chuo Train Station). Free shuttles are available from the Station upon advance reservation. Sengan-en Japanese Garden is a 20-minute drive from the hotel, and Chiran Buke Yashiki samurai mansion is a 40-minute drive. Breakfast requires an extra fee and must be requested at check-in. It is served from 07:00-09:00 at Restaurant Ripple and consists of either a set-menu Japanese breakfast or a Japanese/Western buffet breakfast. Guests can also enjoy a French lunch and dinner at Ripple, or head over to Washoku Dokoro Satsuma for Japanese cuisine.
