It is located at the key place of Kisoji, which is an old trade route in the Kiso Valley, and it is easy access to several various sightseeing points such as the Komagatake Ropeway, the Tenryu Funa-kudari (the Tenryu river rafting tour) and Tsumago, which is known today as one of the best preserved post towns in Japan.
