The hotel lies on the shores of Lake Orta in a peaceful oasis. It is just a few kilometres from the mediaeval village of Orta San Giulio.

The property was built in 1935 and renovated in 2010. The hotel, with its renowned cooking and gastronomic specialities, has an enchanting restaurant with a veranda on the lake, a large banquet hall, 60 guest rooms and an annex with flats. The position of the lake view rooms makes waking up a uniquely relaxing experience and the sunsets are equally stunning. Double standard rooms have a private bathroom with a shower or bath, hairdryer, satellite TV and direct dial phone. Either double or king-size beds come in the rooms. The air conditioning and heating are individually regulated.
The hotel features a heated swimming pool with a solarium, a private beach with sun loungers and parasols, a massage service and table tennis. For additional fees guests may take advantage of the facilities for waterskiing, motor boating and pedal boating.
A breakfast buffet is served each morning. Lunch is offered from a set menu and à la carte. Dinner may be selected à la carte.
